The law firm of McElroy & Durham, P.C. was created from a vision shared by Thomas McElroy and Teri Durham to provide high quality, affordable legal services based upon a client's individual needs.

Thomas P. McElroy

Thomas McElroy received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Reed College in 1997 and his Juris Doctor from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in 2000.  His practice focuses exclusively on family law. 

Thomas previously practiced family law at St. Andrew's Legal Clinic, where he still volunteers. He was a founding partner of Donaldson McCaffrey McElroy & Arsanjani, LLP before starting his own practice in 2005.  In 2008, he joined forces with Teri Durham to form McElroy & Durham, P.C. Thomas is also a court appointed attorney, representing children in family law matters. Thomas is involved in community building events in the Portland area and was the Personnel Manager for the Black Rock Rangers, which provides peer security and non-confrontational mediation at the annual Burning Man Festival in Nevada. 

Thomas spends his free time with his wife and two children. He enjoys hiking, playing music, cooking and gardening.

Teri L. Durham

Teri Durham is a native Oregonian who grew up on a grass seed farm in the mid-Willamette Valley. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University in 1993 and her Juris Doctor from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in 1997. 

Teri formerly practiced at Schroeder Law Offices. She was also employed at Hagen, Dye, Hirschy & DiLorenzo before she joined, and later became a partner, at Marandas Perdue Durham & Lowney, LLC. Teri joined her practice with Thomas McElroy in 2008.  She is a volunteer with the Legal Aid Domestic Violence Project, representing victims of domestic violence at restraining order hearings. Teri is also a court-appointed attorney, representing children in family law matters. She was a member of the Regional Advisory Council for the Columbia Regional Program, which administers and funds the educational programs in Multnomah, Clackamas and Columbia counties for children who are autistic, deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have a traumatic brain injury. She has also been active in efforts to increase legislative funding for special education services and is on the Oregon State Bar Association's Unlawful Practice of Law committee.

When not at work, Teri spends her time with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading, home improvement projects, cooking and attending Portland Trailblazer basketball games.  

Jennifer Houdek

Jennifer Houdek is a legal assistant for McElroy & Durham, P.C. and is often the first voice that our clients hear on the telephone. Jennifer attended University of Alaska Fairbanks and University of Alaska Anchorage. She is also a graduate of Sumner College in Portland, where she received a certificate in Paralegal Studies. Jennifer spends most of her free time with her four children.
